Feast Your Eyes on This Masterpiece!
Under the direction of Alison Garner, the residential clients of Elizabeth Mitchell Adolescent Center worked for almost a month creating this amazing bulletin board. Making it especially unique, everything used on the bulletin board is edible!
Check Out Our Community Center!
Centers' newest program, the Bess Chisum Stephens Community Center, is the product of the merger between Centers for Youth and Families and the former YWCA. The Community Center offers swimming lessons, water fitness classes, aerobic classes and a fitness room, (including: free weights, treadmills, stair masters, stationary bikes and a multi-functional weight machine).
Centers Has Much to Offer Parents!
As we begin a new fiscal year, I am grateful to be writing about our programs in Prevention Services/The Parent Center. The fact that The Centers is committed to having prevention services as part of the continuum is one of the things that makes Centers unique. Prevention Services has evolved over the years and is providing a variety of services – I want to update you on what we are doing and have to offer.
FACT - Junior League of Little Rock Teams Up With The Centers
FACT — Families and Community Together — is a collaboration with the Junior League of Little Rock. This program is the Junior League's newest community project. Beginning in June 2008, mentors from the Junior League of Little Rock serve as positive role models to the pregnant and parenting female teens of the Young Moms/Healthy Families program at the Centers for Youth and Families' Parent Center. These teens face the challenge of adolescence as well as motherhood. The focus of this partnership is to encourage the participants to stay in school, delay future pregnancies, and teach positive parenting skills.
